Our client, an athletic brand based in Los Angeles, is looking for a Product Development Assistant to join their team for a 6 month contract! Please note, this role will work a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain changes to colors and raw materials in RLM
- Help support all aspects of the PD team for sample requests, fabric requests from the warehouse, data entry in information systems etc.
- Support in the coordination of tech samples including ordering, receiving, organizing, distributing and tracking
- Proactively communicate on an ongoing basis with team, supervisors, and cross functional teams to ensure deliverables and decisions are met
- Assist in maintaining internal tracking system for real time status of samples, from order to delivery
- Coordinate with raw materials warehouse to request fabrics and trims for sample creation
- Attend and participate in meetings with cross functional departments : design, tech, creative, sales
- Local travel to contractors, mills, showrooms and dye houses
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandise Product Development or a similar field
- 1-3 years experience in product development or apparel manufacturing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis in Excel
- Previous experience in information systems such as RLM, PLM, etc is a plus.
- Knowledge of garment construction
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and a strong attention to detail
- Strong data entry skills and multitasking abilities
- Highly organized, detail oriented, deadline driven, and able to prioritize multiple task
